These great folks over at Cutwater Spirits contacted us to make some tops for these enormous whisky mash barrels while not in use. The barrels are located in one of their stylish tasting rooms and are seen by clients during tours, so logos were requested. The trick was when we discovered that each hand made oak barrel was not uniform we had to find a way to keep all that fabric from drooping into the barrel. Our solution was large custom sand bags that when hanging from line attached stretches it as well as adjusted for the differences.. This was not only a functional solution but complimented the style of the tasting room. The applique signage adds more contrast and texture than a printed sign and has very slight imperfections that keep with the organic hand made look. All together a fun set of covers for us to make.
