In-Shop Marine Services

We’ve shifted our marine work to be exclusively in-shop, which means we no longer offer on-site fitting or installations at marinas and yacht clubs. We’re still here for the projects that can come to us—specifically custom covers for boats on trailers, along with vinyl and polycarbonate window replacements and general canvas repairs. To make sure everything fits correctly, we don’t work from outside measurements or try to duplicate old, worn-out covers; we need the boat for custom templating. If you can get it to our facility, we’ll make sure it’s built right to handle the San Diego elements.

Custom 3-Piece Fishing Boat Cover Providing full protection for a boat with a flybridge requires a specialized approach. This project features a three-piece modular design: individual covers for the bridge, the foredeck, and the aft deck. Every boat is different, and we custom-fit these covers around specific hardware like rod holders, outboard engines, antennas, and radar arrays. For this build, we utilized triangular tie-down gripes and heavy-duty rubber tension rope to ensure the cover stays secure and tight to the trailer during transport and storage.

Precision Fit for Specialized Rigging No two fishing boats are rigged exactly the same. This forest green three-piece cover illustrates our ability to tailor protection around a completely different set of accessories. From varied antenna placements to unique rack configurations and outboard setups, we template each section individually. By bringing the boat into our shop, we ensure that every cut-out and reinforcement point aligns perfectly with your specific hardware, providing a drum-tight fit that generic covers simply can’t match.

Custom Ski Boat Coverage: Over-the-Tower Design For boats with ski towers, we offer tailored solutions based on how you store your vessel. This project features a full-coverage design that protects both the boat and the tower structure. To make handling easier, we engineered this cover in two separate pieces that zip together securely at the tower. While we can design “under-the-tower” covers for a more budget-friendly option, this full shroud offers the maximum protection for your upholstery and electronics.

Comprehensive Environmental Shielding Coastal storage in Mission Bay demands more than a standard cover. This full-rig shroud provides a seamless barrier against the elements. By extending the cover over the trailer, we eliminate the common issue of sun-fading on the hull’s lower sections and protect the trailer’s tires and frame from premature weathering. It’s a complete system designed for owners who prioritize long-term value and maintenance-free storage.
Large-Scale Protection: NOAA Research Vessel Protecting a vessel of this scale requires more than just a large piece of fabric; it requires smart engineering to remain manageable. For this NOAA research vessel, we designed a comprehensive full-rig cover divided into three distinct sections. These sections are engineered to zip together easily, allowing for a streamlined installation process that doesn’t sacrifice the drum-tight fit necessary for long-term storage. By breaking a massive footprint into modular components, we provide a high-level protection system that is as practical to deploy as it is effective at shielding the vessel’s critical infrastructure.

Engineering for Exploration: The DSV Alvin Cover Protecting a world-renowned deep-sea submersible like the DSV Alvin requires a balance of absolute protection and operational flexibility. We engineered this multi-section cover to meet the rigorous demands of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Because scientific instruments are frequently swapped between dives, we designed the fore-section with a modular, high-volume fit to accommodate changing equipment arrays. The entire system is built for rapid deployment and durability, ensuring that one of the world’s most famous research vessels remains shielded from the elements while on deck or in transit.
Full-Coverage Commercial RIB Protection Inflatable boats require specialized protection to prevent UV-related tube degradation and adhesive failure. For this large commercial RIB, we engineered a full cover designed in two modular sections. The sections zip together securely at the console, making it easy for a single person to install or remove. This system ensures the entire inflatable structure is completely shielded from sunlight, extending the service life of the tubes while protecting the internal deck and console electronics from environmental exposure.
Residential Integrated Protection: Large-Scale Power Boat For large vessels stored in residential driveways, the goal is total protection with a minimal visual footprint. We fabricated this full-rig cover in a taupe palette to blend seamlessly with its surroundings while providing complete environmental shielding. To make a cover of this scale manageable, we engineered it in two sections that zip together aft of the hardtop.
The design features custom-integrated pouches to accommodate both the bow anchor and the radar mast, ensuring a precision fit over specialized hardware. We extended the skirt lower than a standard profile—reaching down to the chines—to protect the hull from UV oxidation, while full-coverage motor hoods safeguard the outboards. The result is a drum-tight, modular system that provides commercial-grade protection in a neighborhood-friendly package.

Production-Scale Fabrication: CCM Fleet Covers Our facility is equipped to handle production runs while maintaining the precision of a custom shop. This project for the Navy Combatant Craft Medium (CCM) fleet involved a multi-unit manufacturing run of heavy-duty covers for these 60-foot tactical vessels. Each system provides comprehensive full hull protection, with the specialized material for each boat weighing approximately 180 lbs.

By utilizing a standardized templating process and industrial-grade assembly, we can deliver consistent, repeatable results for government agencies and commercial organizations requiring fleet-wide protection. Each cover is engineered for durability and manageable deployment, as shown here, rolled and staged for delivery to the fleet.
